We're committed to making GoCardless accessible to everyone. Learn about what we're doing to get there.
Compliance status
The website has been tested against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 AA standard.
This website is partially compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 AA standard, due to the non-compliances listed below.
Non-accessible content
The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons.
Non-compliance with the accessibility regulations
Main website
Some of our pages are missing H1 headings or have headings that either skip levels or headings that do not follow a meaningful, descending order. This fails WCAG 2.2 Success criteria - 1.3.1 Info and Relationships.
Some of our pages do not have any clear semantic landmarks on the page. Ensuring clear semantic landmarks and logical focus order is essential for compliance. This fails WCAG 2.2 Success criteria - 1.3.1 Info and Relationships.
Some areas on the site contain text that is visually styled as a heading or title, however coded using <p> element. Screen readers and other assistive technologies do not perceive this as a heading or a distinct section title, which can lead to confusion for users who rely on semantic structure to navigate the page. This fails WCAG 2.2 criteria 1.3.2 Meaningful Sequence.
The cookie consent pop up banner buttons and other links use a light semi-transparent outline on a light background as a focus state. As a result, the focus indicator can be hard to see, especially for users with visual impairments. This fails WCAG 2.2 criteria 2.4.7 Focus Visible.

PDFs and other documents
The accessibility regulations do not require us to fix PDFs or other documents published before 23 September 2018 if they’re not essential to providing our services.
Any new PDFs or Word documents we publish will meet accessibility standards.
